Xi An Jiaotong Liverpool University (Tai Cang)–EMS Project in Smart University College
Overview:
Xi An Jiaotong Liverpool University (XJTLU) is located in Taicang City, Suzhou, the total land area is approximately 546 mu, with a total construction area of approximately 497,000 square meters, and can accommodate up to 10,000 students and 1,200 faculty and staff. It is the first U-shaped building connected by a large ring across a river in a Chinese university. It won the WAN World Architecture News Award and the LEED Gold Green Building Certification.
The XJTLU Taicang campus features seven industry-focused colleges, including the School of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing and the School of Intelligent Robotics. According to the plan, by 2025, the campus will annually train no fewer than 2,000 high-level innovative talents with international perspectives and specialized knowledge. By 2026, the campus is expected to have over 8,000 students enrolled.
Solutions:
This project covers the school’s teaching and living areas, including 2 high-voltage rooms, 9 10/0.4kV substations, and terminal distribution cabinets. Acrel provided a power monitoring system, energy consumption monitoring system, and intelligent lighting control system, integrating 40 Feeder Terminal Protection Relays, 926 Multi-function Power Meters, and 21 transformer temperature controllers. Due to the large campus area, the entire system utilizes a zoned networking solution. Data from each zone’s ANet gateway is uploaded to the AcrelEMS platform via the campus’s LAN for centralized management.
Future plans include data access and monitoring for split-type air conditioners, distributed photovoltaic systems, and energy storage systems.
